Master of the Duck, Keeper of the Fowl…Forget that job as a bellhop, housekeeper or concierge. One of our lucky  industry members will have the honor of taking on the esteemed role of Peabody Duck Master for the evening, leading the ducks to bed as we gather with our compatriots to celebrate the opening eve of the 2012 Innkeeping Conference and Trade Show with cocktails and Hors d’ouvres.  Come join in the fowl fun as the familiar musical stylings of John Phillip Sousa fill the lobby and the PAII Show Duck Master relates the story of these famous feathered friends while displaying the fine art of Duck Marching!

Night Out at the Clinton Center

Hop on a bus in front of the State House Convention Center at 6:30 pm for the short ride to the William J. Clinton Presidental Center located on the banks of the Arkansas River at 1200 President Clinton Ave., just east of the Peabody Hotel and State House Convention Center.  Opened in 2004, the Center is home to the William J. Clinton Presidential Library and Museum, the University of Arkansas Clinton School of Public Service, and the Little Rock offices of the Clinton Foundation.

The Center also plays an active role in the Little Rock community, hosting a number of events, lectures, and conferences throughout the year. The Center was instrumental in bringing more than $2.5 billion in economic development to the area, including renovations of the nearby historic River Market district. After you arrive at the Clinton Center we’ll be gathering in the Great Hall for a taste of down home Arkansas cuisine and cocktails (cash bar).   We recommend bringing a jacket along.  Dance to the smooth sounds of Lagniappe (French for a little something extra) a 4 piece band that melds the timeless classics of Soul, R&B and Jazz selections or wander on a specially arranged self-guided tour of the museum.

The buses will be running between the hotel and the visitor’s center, with the last bus leaving for the hotel at 9:30 pm .
